Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Here's exactly what Calories Wise uses, and why — we keep this as minimal as possible.
Essential cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and your session secure — for example, remembering that you're logged into your account, or that you're an authenticated admin. These are signed and httpOnly, meaning they can't be read or tampered with by scripts. Because they're essential to the site working, they don't require your consent under UK cookie law, and we don't show a cookie banner for them.
Local storage (not a cookie)
Your shopping cart is remembered using your browser's local storage, not a cookie — this just means your basket is still there if you close the tab and come back. It stays on your device and isn't sent to us until you check out.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand overall site traffic. It is genuinely cookieless — it doesn't set any cookie, doesn't track you across sites, and only ever reports anonymous, aggregate numbers (like how many people visited a page). We can't identify an individual visitor from it.
Payment
When you check out, you're briefly taken to Stripe's own secure payment page, which may set its own cookies to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. Those cookies are set on Stripe's domain and are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, not this one.
What we don't use
No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels, no cross-site profiling. If that ever changes, we'll update this page and ask for your consent first, as required by law.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking the essential session cookie will mean you can't stay signed in to your account, but the rest of the site — browsing meals and guest checkout — will still work.
